The flame has burned since 1986.
Harmonium, tabla, three generations of singers around the eternal flame at sunset. ₨ 400 for 90 minutes of devotional music in the place where it most belongs.

Tabla, harmonium, ember light.
We came expecting tourist music. We got the real thing — three generations of Lumbini families singing songs their grandmothers sang. The youngest singer was twelve.

Beautiful, occasionally crowded.
On peak weekend nights it gets crowded around the flame. Come early and sit close. The music is wonderful — Hindi and Nepali bhajans, some Buddhist verses too.
